How to Make Basketball Cakes

Bake a sheet cake the size that you need. This will be the hoop and net.

Also make a round cake for the basketball making sure that the ball size will correspond with the top of the hoop.

If you have a half ball cake pan , use this.

Make brown icing, the color of a basketball and using star tip, size #18, cover the entire ball.

Cut the sheet cake into the shape of the hoop and net.

Now make gray icing and using star tip, size #18, cover the entire sheet cake.

Make an orange or red colored icing and using star tip, size #18, make the hoop at the top of the net.

Now use white icing and round tip, size #5 to make the lines of the net putting a dot where the lines intersect.

Use the same size round tip and write your message on the cake board.
