Cookie Monster Birthday Cake

Cookie Monster Birthday Cake

The cake was actually a store bought cake that was iced with white icing. I put cookie monster on it. I started by mixing vanilla icing with blue food coloring. I lightly sketched cookie monster's head on the icing with a toothpick.

I used my decorator icing bag with a star tip to start filling in the are for his head. Once the icing thickened up some, I put more on top to build up the upper lip.

I outlined with a tube of black icing. I cut a marshmallow in half and used those for the eyes. I filled in the mouth with black icing.

Then I put 2 chocolate chip cookies partially in the mouth, and used more blue icing to make cookie monster's hands over the cookies. I outlined the cake in orange and added a few sprinkles.
