Do you cut a 14" square cake in half to make a 3 tier wedding cake

by Linda

I need to know, or do I make a 14, 12, and 8 and cook twice in oven for all three, or can I use one of each cake and cut them in half and put filling in them?

You need to bake 2 2inch cakes for each tier . I torte (cut each cake into 2 1 inch cakes and fill)for my wedding cakes but you don't have to do this.

Hi there,

You use all 3 cakes obviously you start with your 14" at the bottom, and just make sure you use dowels to support the rest of your cakes, if you would like me to explain in more detail e-mail me julieandedward@hotmail.com
