My Grandaughter's Dora The Explorer 3rd Birthday Cake

I made my cake from a basic chocolate sponge. Then I searched the "Disney Channel" for a picture of Dora's face. With that I copied and printed the picture and made my own templates. At first it was very hard to cut the seal the eyes.

With that I used my own frosting consisting of icing sugar, butter, whip cream and beat to make a spreadable cream. Then I used a bit of chocolate frosting "Betty Crocker" and mixed a wee bit to color her eyes and face. Then again I used chocolate frosting to color her hair dark brown.

For the eyes I used a chocolate button for the pupil and for the iris I used chocolate drops. Then take some of the lighter cream color mix to slightly mix with a bit of chocolate to make a flesh color skin. I colored the lips in chocolate as well, and although the original photo had brown lips, well I thought I might try red like lipstick!! It did look good!!..but then i changed it back.
