Fondant Icing and Travel?

by Stephanie
(England)

My daughter is getting married in Italy in June, so it is likely to be fairly hot. I am making a 2 tier Wonky Wedding cake (fruit/marzipan/fondant icing) it will be transported by car to Italy.

My question is will the fondant melt in the heat, how can I store it as I have been told it cannot go in a fridge, also have been told that the colours will `bleed` in the heat . As it is also quite humid in Italy should I just forget the whole thing and get something when I get over there

Hope you can help. Thanks

I'm sorry I'm not much help.
But I don't see why you couldn't put the fondant in an ice cooler for the trip. And put it together when you arrive.

Please post pictures when it's over. I'm anxious to see it!
