My suggestion would be to use piping gel, tint to green then add some buttercream to it. That will give it an opaque look and still look shiny.

Try using Wilton brand piping gel, available at party stores or on line. Mix green icing coloring(also by Wilton) with the piping gel to the desired color. Good Luck!

Wilton sells a clear decorating gel that you can color and add flavoring to. You can buy it in about a 1 cup container. Hope this helps!
