Hi 5 Hand Birthday Cake

Hi 5 Hand Birthday Cake

I photocopied and a enlarged a picture of the Hi 5 hand. I made a large cake in a baking tray and cut the shape of the hand out once the cake had cooled. I covered the cake with mauve colored butter icing.

Then I cut the edge off the paper Hi 5 hand and placed it lightly on the cake. I was then able to neatly sprinkle the green sprinkles around the outside. Then using a cutting tool, I cut out the Hi 5 from the paper and placed it on the cake again.

Using this as a template, I was able to use colored sprinkles and crushed up lollipops to neatly make the Hi 5 on the cake.

I put the lollipops in a snap-lock bag and used a rolling pin to crush them. As this was for my daughter's 5th birthday, I put one candle at the tip of each finger.
