How do you bake a sports ball cake evenly?

I am baking a cake using Wilton's soccer ball pan. I have read a lot of reviews from people saying that it doesn't cook completely in the middle and the edges burn easily. I need to know what temperature and how long to bake this to ensure that it bakes evenly. Thanks!

baking cake evenly in deep pans

Hi dear,
for baking the cake evenly in deep pans from the middle, you can grease the rose nail and place it in the middle of the pan, this will give some extra heat to the middle of the pan and will make the middle cook evenly wit the rest of the cake
hope this will help

Perhaps if the cake is not cooking evenly, it is the oven. Grated these pans are a bit deeper than a regular 2 or 3" pan so it will take longer. I use this pan often; I bake at 350 as I do other cakes and I bake them about 35 - 40 mins. If the edges are getting too brown you can try putting some foil around the edges as you do with pie crust. That might help. Another option would be to cut around the edges slightly as you cut the top off before putting the two cakes together. Hope this helps.
