I need help on making a laptop cake. I can get the base of it but can't find anything that says how the top is done and how it stays upright. Can you please help me? Thank you

Lap top
by: Mildred

I have seen it done, for the bottom it is an actual cake. Keys with fondant, mouse if you want, the speakers with the top of a very small circular tip. For the top, she used a styrofoam and covered with fondant, she made the screen and all the components and also made a favorite web page and sticked there, then with skewers sticks and royal icing she attached to the bottom part onto the cake. The cake looked so good and held it, did not moved nor fall out. I asked her why she chose styrofoam, she told me that there is no way to have a cake angled like that without falling. I liked the cake and so everybody else.
I hope this helps.

Pastillage Fondant
by: Lena, Kuching Malaysia

Pastillage fondant can help as it hard like a wood but make sure is completely dry at least 4 - 5 days. Depending on the weather.
