How to work out tin sizes = for how many people?

by R26

I am just starting out and am having a difficult time working out what size tins to use for certain amount of people. Is there a chart of some sort to explain what 8 inch 10 inch tins serve? I have been asked to create a 2 tier christening cake for 100 people and am not sure what tin sizes to use. Can anyone help?????
