Icing On The Cake

How can I make icing which will remain firm even when not in the fridge because each time my butter icing becomes runny and all my decorations slide off. Please help.

take 100 grams of butter and melt it. add 1 spoon of cocoa powder if you want a choco icing. then add 100 gm icing sugar to it. then pour little amount of milk to it to get a paste consistency. mix well and pour it on the hot cake.

I've had that problem too. And most of the time it happens here in the heat.

You might try one of these things: use less water, use more sugar and/or add meringue powder

I made a cake for my daughters wedding years ago and it was sooooooooo hot outside that all the icing ran off the cake!
