80s Girlie 40th Birthday Cake

I am about to celebrate my 40th and decided to make my own birthday cake, as it was an 80's theme party, I used different colored icing for each tier.

This was my first 3 tiered cake. I made 3 different size cakes, covered each with different icing, then put wooden dowels into each cake just to strengthen it when each tier was placed on top of the other.

I then cut out different shapes and arranged them to co-ordinate, as I like girlie things, I incoporated the lips, some bling, hearts and made the top arrangement using silver sprays, feathers and not forgetting the 40s I arranged over the cake.

I am quite proud as it was my first tiered cake.
