Bake a sheet cake the size that you need.
Ice the cake with white icing making the surface nice
and smooth
Next, cut the tombstones out of silver foam core board. Make the tops
of some square, some with angled corners and some with rounded corners.
With a ballpoint pen, print RIP on the front of each tombstone.
If you want to make the tombstones dull, place some black food coloring on a paper towel and rub it on the silver tombstones.
Make black icing and using round tip, size #5, do the lacework on the sides of the cake.
Next, use your white icing and star tip, size #18 and make a shell border on the top edge and bottom sides of the cake.
Next, write your 50th birthday (or whatever birthday you are making it for) message in the center part of the cake using your black icing and the same round tip, size #5.
Next, place your silver foam core board tombstones on each side of the writing pushing them down into the cake making sure you stagger their placements.
Next, make the grass by putting some coconut in a baggie with a little bit of green food coloring. Seal the bag and squeeze it until the coconut is colored green.
Sprinkle the grass around the tombstones and message.
