Renaissance Wedding Cake

Renaissance Wedding Cake

I made a 14", 12" & 8" cake from scratch. The bottom layer was chocolate, middle white, top was chocolate. The couple wanted clotted cream and berries between the layers. Instead of cutting the layers in halves, I made 2 cakes of each size and layered the clotted cream and had strawberries on the bottom, clotted cream and mixed berries on the 12" layers and clotted cream and strawberries again on the bride and grooms layer.

I decorated the blue droops representing the water. The longships are pictures printed on the edible sheets. The dragon is a red figurine and the burnt orange is for the sunset. The topper is a glass castle. The greens are silk ivory leaves for some color.

Everyone thought it was awesome, and also said it was tasty. Enjoyed doing something different. Was a very nice wedding, everything was a renaissance theme.
