School Bus Cake

Bake a 9"x13" cake. Cool completely. Cut in 2 pieces, right down the middle, lengthwise.

Cut 3" off and end of one piece. From this small piece cut a strip 1" thick. Then cut this in half lengthwise.

Ice the bottom layer and put the next piece on top matching pieces on one end.

Ice the top and place the small 1" piece on top. You can tell from the picture where it goes

Ice entire cake. I froze my cake and it was 200 times easier and less crumbs. I used a star tip to cover the cake with yellow icing, leaving the windows empty. I went back with the star tip and filled in the windows with black icing.

I used cookies for the wheels.

I used buttercream icing.

Now I have other ideas for this. Like a firetruck cake and an 18 wheeler cake. Just change the colors of icing to suit the truck and use mini-oreos for the wheels.
