Lightning McQueen Cake.
I made two 9x13 sheet cakes and stacked them on top of each other. I stuck them together with icing and froze them over night. The next day I carved the cake into a car shape and covered it
with some homemade marshmallow fondant.
Then I took my 'cars' gel food coloring and scooped out a little of the red into a small dish and added a little water to make it into a paint. I painted the whole car covered in fondant.
Next, I cut out pieces of fondant for the lightning bolt shape, the numbers, the rusteeze sign, the windows, the head lights and the fin on the back. I painted them, let them dry and then attached them with water.
I used a cutting board we happened to have at home for a race track and put hot wheels on the outside. I used mini chocolate donuts for wheels and there you go! a Lightning mcqueen car cake!!
I used sparklers when we gave him the cake instead of candles to give it that extra pizazz. I also made some cupcakes iced red with yellow and blue lightning bolts to match the cake for him to take to school for his classmates.
