How to Make a Soccer Cake


Easy instructions for making this soccer cake:

Bake a round cake the size that you will need. The cake in the above picture is 10 inch round.

Using an icing filled bag, and round tip, size #5, draw the ball design on the cake.

Use black icing and star tip, size #18 and fill in the black areas first. Then fill in the white areas.

Do the sides in white icing with the same size star tip.

With white icing and round tip #5, write your message on the board.

Ths cake could also be baked in a soccer ball cake pan and decorated in the same manner.

Another idea for a Soccer Cake

Easy instructions to make this Soccer Cake:

Bake a full size sheet cake. Also bake a ball shaped cake in a ball cake pan.

Here you can find a Sports Ball Cake Pan if you do not already have one and need one.

Ice the sheet cake in white buttercream icing. Mark 1 & 1/2 inch from the edge all around the cake top. Connect the markings with a ruler or straight edge item. You will have a rectangle centered on top of the cake.

Next, use white icing and star tip, size #18 to make the shell border on the top and bottom edge of the sides of the cake. Also put a shell border around the rectangle on the top of the cake.

Next, place the ball cake on the left side of the sheet cake. Decorate the ball with black icing and star tip, size #18 following the soccer ball pattern. Refer to the picture a a guide. Fill in with white icing the white areas using the same size star tip.

Write your message on the board. Add some color by writing the message in team or school colors etc.
