How to Make Sports Cakes Such as This Football Helmet Cake

Bake a round cake the size that you need. With an icing filled bag and round tip, size #5, draw the helmet shape and the team logo on the helmet.

Cut the helmet shape out of the cake.

Use star tip, size #18 and the icing colors of your team logo and cover the helmet. The icing on the inside part of the helmet is blended with a small cake spatula.

Outline the team logo using black icing and round tip, size #5.

Use white or black pipe cleaners and shape the face guard sticking the ends of the pipe cleaners into the cake.

Use size #5 round tip and the icing color of your choice to write the message on the board.
