stacked wedding cakes

Is there anyway to add heigth to a cake tier short of baking another layer of cake? I am making a 3 layered square cake 16", 12" & 8" each layer is 3 inches high it is for a wedding and I am afraid it will look to short, any suggestions?

I saw where a lady used a piece of styrofoam to make her layer look thicker.

And you might try a filling instead.
