Baby Blocks Cakes

These baby blocks cakes were made for a baby shower. They were made to look like baby blocks in the color of the baby's nursery and the letters are the initials of the baby.

I used a 7" x 7" x 2" square pan.

I used 2 cake mixes per cake, and each cake had 3 layers.

I used buttercream icing and iced between each layer.

Instead of icing the sides smooth, I used a silicone spatula and left the sides kind of rough.
that way it looked more like wood grain.

I used a big round tip to outline the letters and star tip for the inside of the letters and the edges.
