Cake With Basket Shape

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can make a cake with a basket shape decoration?

The oval is a good one.
And Nancy's suggestion is also good.

Any cake shape will work.

I would double the thickness though so it would be taller. That makes the basket weave easier.

For instance if you want a rectangular shape and use a 9" x 13" pan, make 2 or 3 and stack them.

I saw on this site where someone did a basket and used a marshmallow rope as a handle. I can't find those where I live, wish I could, it looked very nice.

Depending on the color you use you might get some of those twizzlers in colors and use them for a handle.

I THINK I WOULD JUST USE A TUBE CAKE PAN OR BUNT PAN TO BAKE THE CAKE AND IF YOU WANTED YOU COULD SCOOP OUT A LITTLE OF THE CAKE ON TOP AND ICE THE SIDES WITH A BASKET WEAVE. YOU CAN GET SOME PIPE CLEANERS FOR THE HANDLE IF YOU WANT HANDLES ONE IT. I DON'T KNOW IF THAT HELPS OR NOT BUT THAT'S THE ONLY THING I CAN THINK OF. I HOPE YOU GET SOMEONE THAT HAS ANOTHER IDEA..GOOD LUCK, NANCY OF CA.
