Prince Joshua's 1st Birthday Cake

Prince Joshua's 1st Birthday Cake

For this crown cake, I used two 9-inch round pans and followed a simple rice crispy treat recipe. I sprayed the pans with vegetable oil to keep from sticking to the pan. I placed a layer of ganache in between the rice crispy rounds.

After making a simple sugar cookie dough I used a template from Family Fun website to cut out the shape. Using Wilton buttercream frosting I dabbed some frosting on the back of cookie and placed them all around the rice crispy cake. The rice crispy cake idea came from Martha Stewart.com and the cookie part idea was from Family Fun. I combined both recipes and created my version of a crown. Everyone loved it.
