gumpaste and whipped icing

Hi, How can I place gum paste flowers on whipped icing without any problem.
The last time when I did this where ever the flowers touched the icing then softened and lost their shape.

Try this

I used to put gumpaste on whipped cream. I used pastillage plus gumpaste as it is harder so won't melt that easily. Secondly the pastillage decoration will only go on the cake till the very last min and should not keep in the fridge after that.
