Tassel Cake
I baked a heart cake in the Wilton heart shaped cookie pan.
And I used another cake mix for the Wilton ball pans.
After cakes cooled completely I iced the heart with buttercream icing with ivory color mixed in for flesh tone.
Then I added the ball halves on top and iced them with the buttercream. I let dry a while and carefully went over entire cake with a Viva! paper towel to make it smooth.
I used a star tip to go around the bottom of the heart and a small round tip to write happy birthday.
I used a small heart shaped cookie cutter and cut hearts out of a fruit roll up. It was VERY sticky and hard to get off the paper without it tearing. I think I ended up eating 4 roll ups before I was finished! lol
Then for the tassels I cut 2- 2inch long pieces of pull apart Twizzlers. Approximately 2 inches.
Then I pulled them apart all except for the very top half inch or so. I used another single string of it to wrap around the top of the tassel and secured the sting with a toothpick and attached it with the same toothpick. Just stuck it right into the heart shaped 'pastie'.
Thomas LOVED his cake, he turned 18.
Oh, and thank you Nancy for helping me!!!!!!
