I am making a cake for my daughters 21st and the cake she has chosen is black. My question is how do you make black gum paste?

Thank you, Tracy

gum paste/fondant

i'm with Nancy. If you're covering the whole cake, use fondant.
If it's for decorations , go with the gum paste or mix the two.

It'll take lots of color.

BLACK PASTE
by: NANCY

IF YOU ARE COVERING THE WHOLE CAKE, I WOULD USE FONDANT RATHER THAN GUMPASTE. IT TASTES BETTER AND DOESN'T GET AS DRY. THE FONDANT CAN BE HOMEMADE AND YOU HAVE TO PUT LOTS OF BLACK COLOR OR YOU CAN DO IT CHOCOLATE AND THEN ADD THE BLACK AND YOU WON'T HAVE TO USE AS MUCH COLOR. PLUS IT WILL TASTE GOOD. HOPE THAT HELPS..NANCY OF CA
