Cat and Mouse Play!

I made this cake for my friends 5y old.

He requested the cat to be lying down. The rest was up to me:-))

I made several sponge cakes,cut different pieces out of each sponge.

When all the pieces were laid out,I cut them in half(sideways)and put jam and butter icing in between the layers.

Next,I put a layer of butter icing all over the cat and put it in the freezer to set.

I rolled white icing out and put pieces of black icing randomly on the white and rolled it out again to get the effect.

I made some green icing and piped it all around the cat to make it look like grass.
I cut out ears, nose and badge out of colored icing.

I made the mice out of white icing and put the details on.

I made a ball of wool out of strawberry laces.

I had a good time making it.
