Doll Cake

The first thing I did to make this doll cake was go to the 99 cent store and buy a doll. I dislocated her body from her legs and cut one of the legs to fit back into her body. I needed that to be able to put down into the cake when ready to decorate.

I baked a confetti cake in a wonder pan for about 40 minutes. I iced it with thin buttercream first and then did one of the star tips to go all around it.

I made some little flowers with fondant to put on, but you can just use buttercream to do the flowers with also. I made little pearls for her necklace and used a 2 tip for the straps and bow in the back which can't be seen in this photo. I crisscrossed the back bodice and made a little hanging bow.

It was a simple, easy and fast cake except for the hand getting tired with all the piping. LOL Nancy of CA
