I'm making a race track cake and trying to make edible road that is dark and not crumbly?

Kelly is right, you can use fondant or plain butter cream and she forgot to mention our little idea of smoothing it out nice and smooth. Use a viva paper towel when it gets pretty crusted or dry and it will come out really smooth. Good luck and don't forget to send in your picture on here so we can see it..love Nancy
