Erupting Volcano Birthday Cake

Erupting Volcano Birthday Cake

To make this Volcano cake, I used 2 bundt sizes, and an 18x8 inch square pan. I made "dirt" with tinted homemade butter frosting, then shaped the "mountain". The top layer is cut small round, then layered in tin foil "bowl". I tinted 1 package of coconut green, added to the mountainside for the terrain look, then added plastic dinosaurs, trees, rocks (from a grab pack at a craft store, 99 cents each)

In foil well, added lava mixture (red food color, egg white, sugar) and dry ice, then drip hot water when ready to "erupt." We took it to my sons 3rd grade classroom for his birthday to do the eruption, they all loved it!
