Football Cake

The football cake was made for my sons birthday. He's on a football team so I decided to do it based on that. It was really simple to make. I used 2 yellow cake boxe mixes and one chocolate one for the football.

I also made 3 batches of a simple buttercream recipe which I added green food coloring to. Then last just bought a can of chocolate frosting store bought.

I did cook the cakes 2 days before let them cool wrap in plastic then freeze them its just easier that way. The day I needed them, I just took them out and carved them to the right size and started the crumb coat then the final coat. The football shape I carved it by myself with a knife then iced it with the chocolate frosting.

I iced the sheet cake with the vanilla frosting I made green. I used a regular size baking pan for the bottom and the smaller square size pan for the football cake.

It was pretty easy.
