Gum Paste

Can I apply gum paste flowers to my buttercream frosted cake and refrigerate safely? I want to make sure by decorating tonight, I will not "ruin" the gum paste flowers.

 gum paste flowers with butter cream frosting

I tried it before and it is ok, you can
the butter cream doesn't contain water in it to soften the gum paste.
