Helicopter Cake

Helicopter Cake

My nephew Courtney asked this year if I could bake him a helicopter cake for his 3rd birthday party.

I made a plain oil sponge cake and made butter icing and divided it into three bowls, I put green food coloring for the lawn and colored coconut green to sprinkled it on like lawn.

I put cocoa powder to another bowl for the sand and sprinkled brown sugar for the effect of gravel and white icing for the land pad and placed red sweets for the letter ‘H’.

I decorated the edges with sweets and lighting on the landing pad.

The helicopter is a toy so I put wire on the helicopter landing gear and placed in into the cake to make it look like it was coming in for the landing.

My nephew was very impressed with his cake and we all had a great day.
