How do I make a thick cupcake icing?

What is the recipe for a thick cupcake icing? I have tried several times however my icing always seems to be quite light. I am wanting to achieve the thick swirl effect. I also have a problem with the pink icing bleeding...any tips on how to combat this?

DO YOU MAKE BUTTERCREAM FROSTING? IF SO ADD MORE POWERED SUGAR AND A TAB OF CORN SYRUP THAT WILL MAKE IT THICKER AND ALSO ADD A LITTLE SHINE. HOPE THIS WORKS FOR YOU
