How to assemble cake?

by Rina
(Shah Alam, Malaysia)

I'm interested in doing a tiered wedding cake but I don't know how to assemble it without using a cake standee. I used to watch a clip from a website, it used straw to deck the cake. However the clip was too slow I couldn't wait until it finished. As a result I still don't know how to do it. Please guide me. Thanks.

No matter what you need to at least use dowls and cake boards to teir a cake. You need one in the center and then place them a couple inches from the center around the cake. Place the cake on the cake board (then decorate before placing on dowels. Remember to leave a gap between layers, so cut dowels to height and dowels need to be placed to fit with upper layer, not lower. Then proceed to layer with dowels on each layer. If you are giong to be transporting the cake it is best to stack when you have arrived at the destination or else you will have unwanted disasters.
