how to make a black 45 rpm vinyl record

I am not sure how to make the record with required grooves etc. I plan to use flowerpaste to make it but I want it to look authentic. Any ideas would be welcome.

45 record cake topper

I just decorated a cake with a 45 record topper. I made it out of fondent from a Wilson multicolor package I found at Walmart. Just rolled it out, cut out a round shape using a small plate about the size of a record. Pressed it to the cake top.
Added the same color of cake icing I was using to be the "hole in the center". Did not make the groves, but I suppose a fork drug through the fondent would do that. Added lettering to the "record" (Rock & Roll) you could make it as detailed as you wish. I piped Icing around the record to finish it off.

HARD ONE.

THAT IS A HARD ONE TO GET AN IDEA FOR. I AM THINKING, GO TO A THRIFT SHOP AND SEE IF YOU CAN FIND AN OLD 45 RECORD AND WHIPE IT CLEAN AND PRESS IT ONTO YOUR FONDANT OR GUMPASTE. BE SURE TO BRUSH IT WITH POWERED SUGAR OR CORN STARCH SO IT WON'T STICK. THAT'S MY ONLY IDEA. HOPE THAT WILL WORK..GOOD LUCK NANCY OF CA
