How to use Wilton large cupcake cake pan

I recently purchased the Wilton cake pan that makes a cake that looks like a

large cupcake. I used it for the first time yesterday. I used a box of Duncan Hines yellow cake mix. I used the whole box of batter between the two sides of the pan. The bottom part of the large cupcake was not baked in the center all the way through even though the other part was browned and done.
What did I do wrong?

Hi, I baked a cake successfully by putting mix into bottom side of cupcake pan & bake for 10 minutes before putting mix into top side & placing back in the oven - this was at a temperature of 170 for 50mins - hope it helps!

I'm struggling with the same thing, it's a shame it doesn't come with it's own instructions. I think Wilton are missing a trick here! Not only does it not cook in the centre but if you use a light colour mix, then it goes too dark when you cook it longer and turn the heat down slightly. Can some-one who'se been successful with this suggest a temperature and a cooking time please. I've tried three times and I'm getting nowhere!

I find that if you put the bigger part of the cupcake (the base to the back ot the oven it cooks much better and turn oven down a few degrees ald let it cook slower

what the eaisest thing to do it you can cook the bottom part ont the cake slightly then add the mix to the other side then cook them so they both turn out cooked at the sametime or you can cook the separately
