'Getting Booted Out' Cake

'Getting Booted Out' Cake

I used a heart shaped pan for the base and the sports ball pans. I used 2 cake mixes.

Mix and bake according to directions.
After cooled, I trimmed the point off the heart cake and cut a notch to make legs.

I iced in buttercream in flesh tone and in blue.
After the icing dried awhile, I used a Viva! towel to smooth.
I then added the blue icing, let dry and then smoothed that as well.

I used different tips to add the pockets and stitches.

The boot was made in advance, my first attempt at a boot...wow! What an experience. Next time will be better.

I made it out of gumpaste.
