Practice Cake

This cake was just a little practive for me to do. I have an anniversary cake to make in a few weeks. I wanted to practice a bit on the scrolling. the cake I am to do is going to be three tiered. I have never done one before...

This was a confetti cake mix baked in 8 inch pans. I frosted them with butter cream and used a paint roller to smooth it, this was suggested by Kelly by Ann. I wanted to see if it worked and it sure did. I did use a Viva paper towel when the frosting crusted and then smoothed it over with the roller. What a fast way to do it. Thank you Kelly and Ann.

I put a couple of phony flowers on top just for color. I am going to try making fondant or gumpaste flowers for the other.

It is for a 50th anniversary and I want it to turn out as best I can. Wish me Luck LOL!
Nancy of Cal.

By the way, the roller is a foam roller, I think a 6 inch one. What a good invention...
