Tinkerbell Cake

Tinkerbell Cake

For this Tinkerbell cake, I made three tiers round. Each is two layers with buttercream in the middle. The top has my duaghter's birthday picture with Tinkerbell and some double daisies. There is a waterfall, made from sugar paste, with blue glitter piping gel for the water.

I made the lady bugs from icing. The butterflies are not edible, the spiral wire is not edible, and the Tinkerbell's are not edible, but the flowers are sugarpaste.

I took the theme and ideas from a Tinkerbell movie that my daughter has and I made bluebirds in nests and tacked them to the bottom of the board for additional theme items.

Please share with me your thoughts and ideas on this cake. This is my second posting to this sight of my cakes.

Water Fall
by: Veronica Harmon

I used the white gum paste and shaped it for the water falling.. I placed toothpicks to keep it standing out from the cake. Then I used a precolored piping jel blue from Wilton. It can be found at walmart or Hobby Lobby. It comes in a tube and I allowed it to run down the gumpaste naturally and it pooled at the bottom. This is where the rocks around the pool kept the piping gel into place.. You may want to use grass or something.

Piping Gel
by: Millie

Hi, I think this cake is really beautifully done and shows so much time and effort! I am making a cake for my parent's birthday which is coming up soon and since my dad asked my mum to marry her when they were rowing on a lake, I am interested in the water effect. Did you add your own blue colouring to the piping gel? And also how did you apply it to make it look as if it was flowing down each tier (with a spatula, piping bag, brush etc)? I'd really appreciate any advice or tips, thank you!

I love to see the children's faces when I make a different cake. I guess, I am addicted to the WOW factor...I did the Hannah Montana Guitar Cake also, it is posted on here. I also did a small white daisy cross cake in fondant. I love to experiment. We have a lot of Birthdays this time of year and all of the children want me to make their cakes.
