Toilet Cake

Toilet Cake

I had my husband make me a platform out of ply wood that I could use to put the cake on. I covered the back wall and the floor with printed paper of my choice. I made two round cakes and sat them on top of one another, cutting off a squared off bit at the back so it would sit flush against the wall and scooping out a hollow in the middle for the toilet bowl.

I used so lite icing (50% vegetable shortening and 50% icing sugar)to ice the whole cake.

For the toilet seat and the lid I cut out a template from cardboard and covered it in the rolled icing. For the toilet system behind the toilet seat I cut out a cardboard shape and covered it in white paper.

I made a toilet roll out of rolled up tissues and fastened it to the back wall with a needle and thread. I made a small book out of left over rolled icing and sat it on the toilet floor.

I used a black writing icing tube to write on the toilet seat and wrote on the toilet lid with black text, (DO NOT LET GUESTS EAT THIS, I found that writing on the lid with writing icing was no good as the writing slowly started to slide down the seat.}
