Trying to make a 'baby' friendly fruit icing

by Tara
(Nova Scotia, Canada)

For my little girls first birthday I'm going to make animal faced cupcakes for the big people who come and the few small children. My little girl has only ever eaten fresh fruits and veggies, nothing out of a jar or pre-made. I'm trying to find a recipe to make coloured icing that would use fruit or veggie (carrot?) as the colouring. Can anyone help?

Thanks so much!

blueberries, raspberries, strawberries (most berries) mix well with fresh cream or marscapone and optional sugar (or very ripe banana) - you can practically make a rainbow cake just using delicious fruit

Try pomegranate juice. It's very sweet and the color is beautiful. You could also try purple grape juice. Hope this helps!
