This cake could really be for an adult or child. This one was made for a Dad and it says "Happy Birthday Albert - One Fine Lion"
Bake a sheet cake the size that you need.
Using a cake spatula, ice the cake in white icing
making sure that the surface is nice and smooth.
With an icing filled bag and round tip, size #5, draw the lion on the cake top making sure to leave room for your message.
Make a light tan icing and use star tip, size #18 to cover the lion’s body except for the mane and that tail tip.
Make a medium brown color icing and use star tip, size #18 to do the mane and the tail tip. Start at the lion’s face and pull the tip out to the end of the mane. Go all around the lion’s face. Do another layer on top of the first starting at the face only not pulling out to the end of the mane. Be sure to fill in any empty spaces.
Do the tail tip in the same manner.
With the same size star tip, fill in the lion’s nose.
Using the same medium brown icing, change to a round tip, size #5 and outline the lion making sure that you outline the face, nose, ears and put on the whiskers and small dots at the end of the smile.
With black icing and round tip, size #5, make two dots for the eyes and make the smile and the lines on top of the whiskers.
Use the medium brown icing and round tip, size #5 to write the birthday message on the bottom half of the cake top.
