Dora The Explorer Cake

Dora The Explorer Cake

My 4 year old daughter loves Dora. That's all she wanted for a cake. I used 2 packets of butter cake mix for each lamington tin and I used 2 tins. I cooled the cake for around 3 hrs so it would be easier to ice.

I drew a picture of Dora on baking paper and then pinned it down on the cake with toothpicks, cut out the outside of the cake with a sharp knife. Using a skewer I pricked the rest of the picture on the cake.

I use butter icing for the whole cake. For Dora's hair I used chocolate icing sugar and for her face I used brought frosting and added a little choc icing to it. Lastly I used black icing and piped it for the detailing. The cake fed around 20 people.
