Hot Rod Car Cake

by Nancy Courtney
(Rialto, CA)

To make this hot rod car cake, I used a wilton car pan. I baked a carrot cake, although, I should have had at least two extra cups of cake. It didn't raise all the way, and looks like I have flat tires.

I made my own fondant. I frosted the cake with butter cream first and then put the fondant over it. I made some flames, lights, windows and the license all out of the fondant in different colors.

Then I trimmed around the windows with some left over butter cream icing. It was fun to make, but this was the first cake I made with the pan. Now I will know to use at least 6 cups of cake batter. Nancy of CA
