Book and Shoe Cake

For this book and shoe cake, I made the shoe out of gum paste and let dry. I attached the pieces of the shoe with royal icing.

The cake was made in the Wilton book pan.

After the cake was cooked and baked, I iced in buttercream in white.

I combed the edges to make pages and let it dry, then went over the top with a Viva towel. I added a green strip with a round tip and let dry then smoothed that with a Viva towel too.

I made the receipt and credit card out of fondant. The credit card has her name on it and also her birthdate. I also dusted the pages and edges of the pages with dusting powder.

The purple fondant in the center is a bookmark. The words are in buttercream. They say 'Charge it' and 'Happy Birthday to a shoe Goddess'.
