Rock Star Guitar Birthday Cake

Rock Star Guitar Birthday Cake

I made the Rock Star Guitar Cake for my little neighbor girl for her 11th birthday, and her party was appropriately themed “Rock Stars”. The cake was a big challenge for me to create, beings I did not have or use any shaped pans.

I made the base of the guitar using an 11X15 sized cake pan, and the handle out of an 11x13 sized pan.

To shape the cake, I just basically free handed the guitar outline onto some tag board, and then placed the guitar shape on top of the cake and cut it out.

For the decorating portion of it I used the star piping technique, and mixed the three different colors using Watson coloring.

The star and music not shapes on the cake where also created free hand just by shaping them with the frosting. As far as the #11 inside of the star, and the letters LEXY, well those are just those candy decorations that you can buy in the grocery store.

This cake was really good practice for me, and the birthday girl loved it!
