Lady Bug Cake

Lady Bug Cake

To make this lady bug cake, I used the Wilton Sports Ball cake pan. One half of the ball I used for the lady bugs body. I used a star tip to decorate the entire cake. The head was made from a portion of the second half of the ball; I just cut it to fit against the body.

The legs are made out of shoestring licorice; but could also be easily made with fondant or gumpaste.
