Fish Birthday Cakes - Flounder from The Little MermaidEasy directions for making fish birthday cakes:
Bake a sheet cake the size that you need. With an icing
filled bag and round tip, size #5, draw the fish (in this case it is
Flounder from the Little Mermaid) on the cake top. Cut the cake away
from the shape.
You will be using star tip, size #18 to cover the surface of the cake and round tip, size #5 to do all of the outline work.
With black icing and the star tip, fill in the pupil of the eyes. Next, fill in the whites of the eyes with white icing.
Next, fill in the mouth with red icing.
Now make a sky blue colored icing and fill in the lighter blue areas of the tail and the fins.
Next, make a royal blue colored icing and fill in the rest of the tail and all of the fins.
The picture shows the placement of the two blue shades on the fins and the tail.
Make yellow icing and cover the rest of the cake.
Now use your black icing and round tip and outline the
eyes and the mouth. Next, pipe the eyebrows, nose and the curve above
the bottom fin.
