How to Make Princess Cakes Such as This Sleeping Beauty Cake

Easy instructions for making princess cakes such as this cake:

Bake a sheet cake the size that you need. With white buttercream icing and round tip, size #5, draw Sleeping Beauty on the cake referring to the above picture.

Cut the cake away from the drawing. With white and blue icing and star tip, size #18, fill in the eyes. Next do the mouth with red and white icing and the same size star tips. Do the white collar at this time also.

princess cakes Make a flesh colored icing and using star tip, size #18, fill in the face and the neck. The flesh color is made by adding a very small amount of red and orange paste or gel coloring to white buttercream icing.

The top of the dress is done in a medium gray icing and using the same size star tip.

Next make a black icing and use star tip, size #18 to fill in the headband and the bodice vest.

Make a yellow icing and using star tip, size #18, fill in the hair.

Next, use your black icing and round tip, size #5 to outline her eyes putting eyelashes on, her nose, mouth, eyebrows, face and neck.

Outline the white collar, dress and vest making sure you make two X’s in the middle of the vest.

Finally outline her hair and headband.
